Parasites
Some of the most devastating human diseases are associated with co-infections of parasite species that challenge the efficacy of the immune response. Parasites are organisms that utilize their host for nutrition and survival. I didn’t learn this until 13 years into my 17-year battle with chronic fatigue—even though I believe parasites picked up on my mission were a main contributor to my condition. Now we’re reminded of it again with Jeremy’s 3-year health battle.
Most people associate parasites with the GI tract, but they also thrive in the biliary tree, pancreatic ducts, splenic flexure (where testing is especially difficult), blood, lymph, subcutaneous tissues, liver, spleen, brain, spinal cord, eyes, heart, and bones.
The National Health Institute estimates over 12 million Americans suffer from neglected parasitic infections. Yet broader estimates suggest that upwards of 70% of people might have parasitic infestations, many of which are completely asymptomatic until the body is weakened. Interestingly, about 30% of parasite species are microscopic, making them even harder to detect.
Common causes include:
• Living in or visiting areas known for parasites
• Contaminated water and foods
• Not washing hands before eating/drinking
• A weakened immune system
Additional risk factors from modern life: contaminated tap water, undercooked meat, raw foods, sushi, pet kisses, gut microbiome imbalances, poor diet, chronic stress, poor sleep, unnecessary antibiotics, and mold exposure. Heavy metals make us more vulnerable too—parasites can act as “holding tanks” for them. In animal studies, fish tissue with parasites held 6–8 times more heavy metals than parasite-free tissue. Parasites can also reactivate dormant viruses, creating a vicious cycle that further burdens the immune system.
Clinical associations to watch for (Jeremy showed most of these):
• Symptoms that ramp up cyclically around the full moon (a classic sign—parasites are more active and reproducing during this phase due to natural shifts in melatonin and serotonin)
• Nutrient deficiencies (especially B vitamins, C, D, zinc, A, B12, iron, copper, and magnesium)
• High or low white blood cell count, elevated eosinophils
• High histamine, higher-than-normal ferritin, lower iron
• Elevated liver enzymes (ALT, AST) and C-reactive protein
How do you know if you have parasites? Modern testing is notoriously unreliable—most stool tests (including ova & parasite exams), blood work, biopsies, colonoscopies, and endoscopies give false negatives because parasites are stealthy experts at hiding and don’t always live in the bloodstream or gut lumen. Our ancestors and indigenous cultures understood this and practiced regular parasite cleansing, just as we routinely deworm pets, cattle, and horses. When the body is weakened, parasites can push the immune system out of balance, leading to symptoms often labeled as “mystery illnesses,” IBS, autoimmune conditions, MCAS, POTS, mitochondrial dysfunction, or leaky gut.
Common symptoms include:
• Chronic bloating, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, low energy
• Skin rashes (eczema, hives), bruxism (teeth grinding), dairy sensitivity
• Migraines, insomnia, POTS (worse at night), unexplained joint pain
• Weight fluctuations, food cravings (especially sugar), low blood sugar
• Rectal itching, allergies, mood swings, depression
One of the most important steps before any parasite work is to open all drainage pathways so the body can properly eliminate toxins and dead parasites. Lymphatic drainage massage, cupping, or dry brushing (focus on axillary and inguinal nodes), hydration, movement, deep diaphragmatic breathing, and red light therapy are simple, effective tools I’ve recommended for years.
We’ve also used AO Scan technology—frequency-based support that identifies imbalances and delivers custom harmonics. Here’s the parasite playlist we created for Jeremy:
• cleans blood plasma
• infections #1
• infections #2
• leukocyte builder
• lymph glands plugged
• meningitis
• parasites
• thymus gland stimulator
• bacteria detox
• lyme detox
• metal plus detox
• verma plus detox
• arsenicum album
• ledum palustre
• rhus toxicodendron
Anti-parasitic supports we’ve used include Ivermectin, Blue by Solex, HMCTN by Convalesco Herbs, ParaGuard by Zahler, and Universal Binder + Full Spectrum to trap and remove debris. In just 6 months of focused parasite work, Jeremy’s health has improved 60%.
Parasite cleansing isn’t “woo-woo”—it’s a time-honored practice that can also help pull out heavy metals and problematic viruses. Let us know in the comments what you do to prevent parasitic overgrowth or support your body’s natural defenses!
